A magazine cover is a designer’s dream, a set space of 8 by 11 inches with a good amount of contrast between light and dark regions. Being a designer, I must come up with multiple methods to draw the reader’s eye to each short teaser line floating about the cover page to sell the issue’s inside stories. Using my access to editing softwares such as Lightroom and Photoshop, to digitally lightening or darkening areas of a photograph is always a possibility. Bold and italic fonts were my best friend in this piece — getting fancy with colored or shaped background vectors. A magazine cover may literally be flat but that doesn’t mean all of the design elements have to share a single plane, revealing the magazine’s content in a way that makes it jump off the shelf.

2020 in the Raw ~ Photography

Photography is a visual medium that has existed since the 1800s, since then it has evolved both in form, technology, purpose, and expression. Photography is a multifaceted craft that is constantly evolving over time. By finding inspiration in how the world around us and our environment shapes our personalities. I like to create visual stories and focus on unseen details. With a beautifully designed website, my portfolio includes bold and moody photos. My photography gallery offers a slider style, showing only two or three photos at a time. When you take a look I hope you see the emotions in my camera work.
